As a manager at Entrust, Laurinla's responsibilities consist of budgeting, cash flow planning, financial forecasting, student recruiting, training and reviewing of students' work. She also audits, reviews and compiles clients' financial statements and prepares corporate and personal tax returns.
Laurinla has over 10 years of experience in public practice. She started out with a sole practitioner in 1993, followed by articling with a small CA firm for 7 years, and finally working for a larger medium size firm for 3 years. She successfully wrote the UFE in September 2001.
Owner-managed businesses have been the focus of Laurinla's work experience. Working closely with clients has allowed Laurinla to assist them with maximizing the small business deduction and taking advantage of the eligible dividend tax laws. She has also assisted with corporate restructurings that provide creditor proofing and income splitting opportunities.
When not at work, Laurinla enjoys spending time with her family (especially her two young daughters) and friends. For recreation, she enjoys golfing, relaxing at the beach and snowboarding.
